An afternoon amongst the trees. Deliciously sweet ice cream to spur us on. Steep hills dappled in sunlight. Climbing and climbing, 90 Victorian steps rising higher. Ferns and moss carpeting the damp ground. Barely a single person on the path. Laughing our way to the top. What a view. A buzzards view to behold. Canonteign Falls. The highest man made waterfall in England. Cascading over the edge. Stretching out across Dartmoor. An afternoon to explore, hold hands and walk in stride. A quiet children’s playground became our playground. Zip wire fun making us whoop with joy. Simple pleasures. A beautiful garden planted with bees in mind. Wide open stretches of grass separated by interconnecting lakes. Watched over by silent deer. Still, calm, quiet.
